Brasil aprueba TLC con Chile: este tratado impulsará aún más el libre tráfico de plaguicidas peligrosos prohibidos en Europa

“La Red Brasileña por la Integración de los Pueblos ya denunció, junto a Chile Mejor sin TLC, esta alianza espuria con un violador de DD.HH responsable de la destrucción del Amazonías”, indicó Lucía Sepúlveda vocera de Chile Mejor sin TLC.

El Senado de Brasil recientemente aprobó el Tratado de Libre Comercio con Chile, por lo que solo restaría la tramitación para que entre en vigencia en ambos países. Cabe recordar que este TLC fue firmado en 2018 por Sebastián Piñera y por el gobierno de Michel Temer en sus últimos días de mandato, en agosto del 2020 con una discusión igual de exprés que su negociación, el Senado de Chile ratificó el tratado. 

Este Tratado de Libre Comercio de nueva generación, fue aprobado sin estudios de impactos y sin discusión, situación que fue denunciada por la Plataforma Chile Mejor sin TLC y la Red Brasileña para la Integración de los Pueblos, REBRIP,  quienes en 2018 declararon: “Los tratados de libre comercio tienen como principal consecuencia la reducción de la soberanía política de los pueblos y mejores condiciones para el capital trasnacional. No queremos que ésa sea la forma de la supuesta unión entre Brasil y Chile, puesto que de esta forma solo perderán los pueblos. Nos oponemos tajantemente”, sostuvieron en una declaración conjunta.

Lucía Sepúlveda integrante de la Red de Acción en Plaguicidas y sus Alternativas Chile (RAP-Chile) sostiene que: “Este tratado impulsará aún más el libre tráfico de venenos como el acefato, paraquat, entre muchos otros, ya que Brasil fabrica como genéricos estos plaguicidas peligrosos, prohibidos en Europa, y Brasil los exporta amparados en la baja total de las normativas sobre plaguicidas que impuso este gobernante en su país”. 

Sepúlveda también indicó lo que podría pasar si Chile decidiera dejar de importar estos productos dañinos, “con la lógica de protección de inversiones si Chile prohibiera el ingreso de esos plaguicidas peligrosos las transnacionales que fabrican agrotoxicos en Brasil, tales como Bayer-Monsanto, pueden demandar a Chile, según la disposición de protección a las inversiones que presenta”. 

Tal como han apuntado en otros tratados distintas organizaciones de Brasil y Chile reclaman sobre los contenidos vacíos y no vinculantes de aquellos capítulos del tratado que apuntan a parecer progresistas, “contienen puro verso, los capítulos bonitos sobre género, derechos laborales, sobre PYME, pero en la realidad eso no es vinculante, lo único que vale es la reducción de soberanía de nuestros pueblos y las ventajas para el capItal asentado en ese país”, concluyó Lucía Sepúlveda.
