Plebiscito ciudadano TPP-11: CUT instaló punto de votación y llamó a seguir participando

Este miércoles 17 de julio la Central Unitaria de Trabajadores, CUT, en compañía de la Plataforma Chile Mejor sin TLC inauguraron un punto de votación en la sede de la central sindical para participar del Plebiscito ciudadano sobre el TPP-11, también reiteraron el llamado a votar contra el tratado y difundir la página www.plebiscitotpp.cl para que más gente se manifieste. 

Tomás Lagomarsino, de Fundación Equidad y coordinador del equipo Plebiscito TPP, explicó que hasta la fecha  más de 400 mil personas han votado y que se han levantado más de 400 puntos de votación, autogestionados y voluntarios.

“Esperamos que muchas más personas se manifiesten para dar a conocer la opinión de la ciudadanía el próximo 22 de julio a los parlamentarios. Esta voz debe ser escuchada por el poder político y los interpelamos a que la decisión sea en base a lo que realmente la ciudadanía piensa y no en base a las desinformaciones que la misma Direcon sistemáticamente ha levantado para que tanto  los parlamentarios como las personas no tomen conciencia real de este tratado”, manifestó el presidente de Fundación Equidad. 

Bárbara Figueroa, presidenta de la CUT, considera que participar activamente del Plebiscito TPP como de las campañas contra el tratado transpacífico “tiene que ver con la defensa de la soberanía y la posibilidad de la construcción de un proyecto un nuevo proyecto de desarrollo para nuestro país. En tiempos donde estamos viviendo tantos cambios en el mundo del trabajo, por ejemplo, quedar supeditado a las grandes transnacionales, sería el peor de los caminos, sobretodo en un país como el nuestro con una economía tan abierta, con tan pocos límites».

Patricio Véjar, coordinador comunidad ecuménica Martin Luther King, considera que “este tratado es como una nueva constitución que se viene a instalar en Chile” lo anterior se debe a que este tratado considera una serie de “conceptos” que impiden que se apliquen o que se realicen políticas públicas al servicio de las mayorías.

“Conceptos como “trato justo e igualitario”, es decir, tratar igual a una gran transnacional que una pequeña empresa; “coherencia regulatoria” que instala una serie de “buenas prácticas regulatorias” que impide a los países decidir cómo regula su vida interna. También lo que nos ha preocupado es que relativiza la supremacía de los tratados de Derechos Humanos”, declaró el también integrante de Chile Mejor sin TLC. 

Lucía Sepúlveda, integrante de Red de Acción en Plaguicidas, RAP-Chile, acusó a los parlamentarios de eludir un debate importante, ya que “han hablado de crecimiento para el país, pero se han ocultado las dimensiones que afectan nuestra vida cotidiana, que tienen que ver con la alimentación, con la salud, y tiene que ver con amarrarnos a un tipo de gobierno de las corporaciones que va a impedir los cambios que necesitamos hoy en Chile”.

“Este ejercicio de democracia debe ser oído por los senadores que tienen la palabra final y, al igual que en este plebiscito, sólo pueden votar sí o no, sin cambiarle ni una coma”, concluyó la periodista.
