Declaración Pública: Chile Mejor sin TLC solidariza ante detención de presidenta de Newen Kimun
Este viernes 11 de agosto, compañeras y compañeros de la Plataforma Chile Mejor sin TLC nos enteramos de la detención, en la ciudad de Los Ángeles, provincia del Biobío, de nuestra querida compañera Fabiola Tapia Foraste, activista socioambiental, presidenta de la organización NEWEN KIMUN y miembro del colectivo UNA SOLA LUCHA.
Al respecto señalamos lo siguiente:
- Nuestra plataforma manifiesta su respeto y admiración por la lucha, entrega y compromiso de la compañera Fabiola Tapia Foraste y de las organizaciones Newen Kimun y Una Sola Lucha.
- Denunciamos la desproporción absoluta entre la causa de detención (infracción por comercio ambulante) y el modo violento en que su casa fue allanada, provocando incluso daños en su residencia. Fabiola vendió quesos artesanales en la calle hasta fines de marzo, para luego comenzar a trabajar formalmente como captadora de socios en COANIQUEM. Ella nunca fue notificada de la supuesta infracción y nunca fue sorprendida por Carabineros en el acto de ejercer el comercio ambulante en la calle, por lo que su proceder resulta incomprensible e inaceptable.
- A la luz de los antecedentes acumulados desde hace algunos meses, nos resulta evidente que el verdadero objetivo de la acción no es cursar una infracción, sino amedrentar a una persona y a organizaciones que se han levantado contra políticas y proyectos que atentan contra el bien común y el buen vivir, como el TPP y una serie de proyectos hidroeléctricos que pretenden llevarse a cabo en la zona. Lamentamos que Carabineros se preste para tales prácticas, ajenas al mandato dado por los chilenos y chilenas.
- Repudiamos el uso de recursos públicos por parte de las instituciones policiales y de inteligencia, para hostigar a quienes se organizan con el objetivo de promover la conciencia medioambiental. Las instituciones de la República deben estar del lado de su pueblo y no actuar como agentes de poderosos intereses económicos.
- Manifestamos con más fuerza que ayer nuestra solidaridad con Fabiola y el trabajo de las organizaciones Newen Kimun y Una Sola Lucha. No están solos y actuaremos de modo tal que quede claramente establecido.
