Comunicado | Central que agrupa a los trabajadores de Uruguay manifestó su rechazo al TLC con Chile
El PIT-CNT se opone al tratado de libre comercio con Chile, ya que consideran que no es un acuerdo hecho en beneficio de los pueblos, sino de las empresas transnacionales.
El TLC firmado en 2016 cuya ratificación en los parlamentos está siendo presionada por los gobiernos uruguayo y chileno, ha generado críticas en sectores de la política y organizaciones sindicales de ambos países, ya que se considera como una apertura para que las grandes transnacionales interfieran en la soberanía nacional.
Marcelo Abdala Secretario general del Plenario Intersindical de Trabajadores-Convención Nacional de Trabajadores, PIT-CNT cuestionó la forma en que se ha negociado y los beneficios que traería a los pueblos el tratado de libre comercio entre Chile y Uruguay.
Abdala, comentó que si bien como organización siempre han planteado la importancia de la integración de América Latina, ésta no se corresponde con la suscripción a tratados económicos. “No necesariamente existe una relación entre los tratados de libre comercio y el desarrollo de nuestros pueblos y de nuestras economías”, indicó. Añadió que a su parecer “la apertura indiscriminada, que muchas veces significan estos tratados, no necesariamente significa libertad para nuestros pueblos sino dominio del capital financiero y las transnacionales”.
Otro punto que se ha criticado de este tratado es la falta de información con que se ha negociado, dejando fuera del debate a la ciudadanía y organizaciones sociales de ambos países, frente a esto, el secretario general del PIT-CNT indica que, al igual que en Chile, la sociedad civil uruguaya no posee demasiada información sobre los puntos que abarca este tratado y las consecuencias que traería, por lo que manifiesta el rechazo del PIT-CNT ante el método con que se ha discutido este acuerdo.
Igualmente, advierte que la premura con que los gobiernos requieren que este tratado sea aprobado por los respectivos parlamentos ha provocado el alzamiento voces críticas sobre dicho acuerdo, por lo que espera que se pueda da un debate mucho más amplio sobre las implicancias que traería su ratificación para las distintas áreas de la ciudadanía.
