Además agregó que “se debe responder por los cerca de 3.000 millones de pesos de todos los chilenos que se gastaron en una negociación que nadie validó”.
Donald Trump cumplió con su promesa de campaña y hoy firmó el documento que avala la salida de Estados Unidos del Tratado Transpacífico. Pese a que el anuncio se conocía desde su campaña presidencial, la concreción de este hecho marca un hito en las tramitaciones por la ratificación del acuerdo multilateral de libre comercio, suscrito el 4 de febrero de 2015 por los 12 países miembros.
Al respecto Esteban Silva, de la Fundación Constituyente XXI e integrante de la Plataforma, afirmó que “en Chile la Cancillería ha sido majadera en la decisión de continuar contra viento y marea por la ratificación del TPP, sea o no con Estados Unidos, y haciendo oídos sordos y vista gorda a los argumentos de la sociedad civil que desnudaron de forma clara y concreta las implicancias del tratado, así como la vulneración de derechos fundamentales”.

Tras la oficialización de la salida de Estados Unidos del TPP, no hay forma de que entre en vigencia, salvo que los países restantes modifiquen sus cláusulas. Al respecto Eduardo Ferreyros, ministro de Comercio Exterior del Perú, aseguró que «los 11 países (restantes) nos reuniremos y veremos de qué forma continuamos con el tratado; podríamos revisar algunas cláusulas del acuerdo».
La Plataforma hizo un llamado al Gobierno a “no ser más papistas que el Papa” y a “no continuar firmando tratados sin hacer estudios sobre sus consecuencias”.
