Movimientos ciudadanos logran detener discusión del TPP-11 en la Cámara de Diputados
Organizaciones de Chile Mejor sin TLC, líderes de comunidades indígenas y movimientos ambientalistas persuadieron a los parlamentarios, logrando que todo el Frente Amplio, el Partido Comunista, sectores del PS, el PPD y algunos diputados de RN se alinearan para rechazar el Acuerdo.
La votación del Acuerdo de Asociación Transpacífico (CPTPP) que luego de ser aprobada por las comisiones de Hacienda y Relaciones Exteriores por el mandato de Suma Urgencia del ejecutivo, estaba programada para el día miércoles 13 de marzo. Sin embargo, debido a la presión de los movimientos socioambientales y la presencia de representantes de pueblos indígenas el martes en el Congreso exigiendo que se realizara consulta indígena, la votación del TPP-11 en Sala de la Cámara de Diputados fue retirada de la tabla.
Durante las semanas anteriores la Plataforma Ciudadana Chile Mejor Sin TLC recalcó que la discusión en las comisiones de Hacienda y Relaciones Exteriores eran insuficientes, puesto que las implicancias de este tratado son amplias y debían ser estudiadas también en las comisiones de Salud, Trabajo, Derechos Humanos, Medio Ambiente, Agricultura, Trabajo y Género, entre otras.
Frente a la presión generada por la ciudadanía que exigía que los diputados y diputadas se posicionaran públicamente frente a este tratado y las solicitudes para que fuera analizado en profundidad, la totalidad de las bancadas del Frente Amplio y del Partido Comunista comprometieron su voto en contra. Del mismo modo, algunos parlamentarios del PS, del PPD e incluso de Chile Vamos anunciaron que no aprobarían el proyecto.
Además de estas reacciones, la movilización social contra el TPP-11 logró que el acuerdo fuera revisado en la siguientes sesiones por las comisiones de Trabajo y Agricultura de la Cámara de Diputados.
Respecto a la inminente votación del TPP-11, la Plataforma Chile Mejor Sin TLC manifestó su rotundo rechazo a la ratificación de este acuerdo y mediante una declaración pública demandaron la suspensión de la votación del Proyecto de Ley que Aprueba el Tratado Integral y Progresista de Asociación Transpacífico hasta que, por lo menos, se realicen los estudios de impacto ambiental y social adecuados y la requerida consulta indígena.
