Organizaciones sociales de Chile Mejor Sin TPP vivieron fructífera jornada de información y discusión de estrategias
Durante el pasado sábado 19 de marzo, diversas organizaciones y colectivos agrupados en la plataforma Chile Mejor Sin TPP se reunieron para informarse en profundidad sobre las consecuencias que tendría la ratificación del acuerdo en nuestro país. Además, discutieron los pasos a seguir ante la eventual votación del tratado en el Parlamento.
Luego de la firma del Acuerdo Transpacífico TPP en febrero pasado, la agitación de individuos y colectivos detractores de la ratificación del acuerdo no se ha detenido. Aglutinados en la plataforma de organizaciones sociales Chile Mejor Sin TPP, los críticos del tratado han organizado diversas manifestaciones en todo el país, incluso durante la realización del mediático Festival de Viña del Mar en la V Región.
Durante el pasado sábado 21 de marzo, en la Fundación Henrich Böll, los adherentes a la plataforma se hicieron presentes para vivir una extensa jornada de información y discusión de estrategias. La actividad, dirigida a los representantes de las organizaciones sociales adheridas, comenzó con charlas de información sobre los potenciales impactos del acuerdo en la soberanía, derechos humanos, salud, alimentación y derechos digitales, entre otros temas.
El programa de la jornada se abrió con una exposición sobre la estructura de la plataforma Chile Mejor Sin TPP, a cargo de Francois Richard, para luego dar paso a exposiciones sobre el panorama de los tratados de libre comercio en el mundo (Luis Sierra, Convergencia de Izquierdas), los efectos que el TPP tendrá sobre la salud en Chile (Tomás Lagomarsino, Fundación Equidad) y la resolución de arbitrajes y controversias, desde la mirada de Carlos Figueroa (Revolución Democrática).
Posteriormente, Lucía Sepúlveda –de la organización Yo no Quiero Transgénicos- profundizó en las consecuencias que el acuerdo tendrá sobre la soberanía alimentaria y la privatización de la semilla. Además, Pablo Viollier de Derechos Digitales explicó las implicancias del TPP sobre el uso de Internet y los obstáculos que amenazan a los usuarios de los países firmantes.
DISCUSIÓN Y ESTRATEGIAS
El escenario que enfrentará el Acuerdo Transpacífico de Cooperación Económica (TPP) comenzará a definirse en nuestro país en abril próximo, mes en que se estima que el gobierno enviará el proyecto al Congreso Nacional para conseguir su ratificación. Ante este panorama, las organizaciones discutieron acerca de la necesidad de sumar fuerzas y desplegar diversas actividades destinadas a denunciar los efectos del tratado y poner en manifiesto el creciente rechazo de las regiones de Chile.
Sobre la jornada, Paula Muñoz, de Cooperativa Verde, señaló que aún se hace muy necesario “que las organizaciones tomen el peso de participar de este tipo de reuniones. Es importante ponernos de acuerdo y correr, es muy poco el tiempo que tendremos para generar resistencia. En abril el proyecto ingresa al Parlamento y debemos activarnos ya, porque si nosotros estamos revueltos, habrá ganancia de pescadores”.
Entre los acuerdos que tomó la plataforma el pasado sábado, se encuentra la decisión de participar de una marcha convocada a nivel mundial en resistencia al Acuerdo Transpacífico, el próximo 18 de abril. Respecto a la manifestación, que se coordina en conjunto con colectivos de México y Perú, Muñoz señaló que “es muy interesante darse cuenta de que hay varios países movilizados y encendiendo sus alarmas respecto a éste y otros acuerdos. Al final, tiene que ver con la forma en que vamos a vivir en este planeta durante los próximos años”.
En la instancia, las organizaciones pudieron dar cuenta de las actividades que lideran en sus respectivos territorios y coordinar el trabajo venidero, que contempla diversas manifestaciones y encuentros durante el mes de abril. Además, se hizo hincapié en la necesidad de que cada región del país emplace a sus parlamentarios a definir públicamente su postura ante el tratado y a señalar si su voto será favorable a la ratificación en el Congreso.
Desde Convergencias de Izquierda, otra de los colectivos adherentes a la plataforma, Silvio Reyes señaló que “las organizaciones tenemos un rol fundamental para hacer visible el tema y las tácticas han de ser diversas: ya no sólo declamando contra este tratado en agitaciones públicas, sino que de una manera algo más ‘institucional’, vale decir, tal como lo ha planteado la Plataforma, a través de las instancias que existen para establecer diálogos con los representantes populares de manera transmitirle nuestros análisis e inquietudes sobre el tratado”.
Además, Reyes recalcó la necesidad de profundizar el análisis acerca de los efectos negativos del TPP, esto “para que en la discusión del parlamento y las comisiones podamos las organizaciones sociales tener una presencia y voz autorizada producto del estudio que podamos hacer sobre el tratado”.
Durante los próximos días, las organizaciones de la plataforma anunciarán el detalle de las diversas convocatorias que tendrán lugar durante el mes de abril, a la espera de la votación en el Parlamento.
