Chile Mejor sin TPP: “Es lamentable que Bachelet se sume al rescate de un tratado repudiado en todo el mundo»
La plataforma criticó al gobierno chileno por “continuar actuando con secretismo. Ahora se ocupó la cumbre de la APEC para tratar de cocinar un salvataje al TPP”.
La Plataforma Ciudadana Chile Mejor sin TPP criticó las declaraciones de la presidenta Michelle Bachelet, en las que manifestó su voluntad de que el TPP siga avanzando y el compromiso del Gobierno con el tratado.
Al respecto, Esteban Silva, de la Fundación Constituyente XXI e integrante de la Plataforma Chile Mejor sin TPP, afirmó que “Bachelet sigue sin comprender que es el pueblo chileno el que se opone al TPP. Ella pretende imponerlo desde su gobierno que es cada vez más minoritario, pero incluso dentro de su propia coalición hay un alto porcentaje de parlamentarios que se oponen al tratado”.
A juicio de Silva, “el tratado está muerto por su origen antidemocrático y porque no ha logrado justificar sus supuestos beneficios ante la ciudadanía de los países, pero nuestro gobierno persiste en una posición fanática, porque ¿de qué otro modo se puede definir a este entusiasmo que incluso mayor que el de Estados Unidos?”
El representante de Chile Mejor sin TPP también se preguntó “¿qué sentido tiene además de no querer escuchar al pueblo chileno y creer que un tratado de esta naturaleza es positivo, cuando fue hecho en favor de las grandes transnacionales e incluso rechazado por los propios candidatos presidenciales del país que lo promovió?”
Silva criticó, además, la defensa de la política de libre comercio que ha llevado a Chile a ser la economía más abierta del mundo. En su opinión. “el proceso del TPP demuestra la importancia de exigir que en las políticas comerciales del país se cautele la defensa de la soberanía y la adecuada participación. Asimismo, es fundamental avanzar hacia una política comercial que no abra sus fronteras, si el costo es deteriorar condiciones laborales y medioambientales en el país”.
Debido a estos motivos, la Plataforma Chile Mejor sin TPP le pidió formalmente al Gobierno que dé por cerrado definitivamente el proceso de tramitación de este tratado.

Ya tenemos un Tratado de Libre Comercio con los EEUU del 1° de Enero de 2004 y las condiciones del TPP iban a ser aún peores, porque atentaba contra nuestra soberanía.
El TPP, proyecto de Obama, era más geopolítico que económico porque excluía China, nunca fue aprobado por el Congreso de los EEUU y lo único que hace Trump es retirarlo definitivamente de circulación. China es nuestro principal socio comercial gracias a la APEC, no era políticamente correcto darles la espalda con el TPP.
