Confech se suma al rechazo de la sociedad civil al TPP y participarán de movilizaciones
La oposición ciudadana al Acuerdo Transpacífico TPP sigue creciendo en los diversos sectores sociales y el mundo estudiantil no podía quedar fuera. Por ello, luego de una detallada exposición de uno de los voceros de la Plataforma Chile Mejor Sin TPP, Carlos Figueroa, los estudiantes tuvieron la posibilidad de debatir acerca de las consecuencias y amenazas que representa este tratado. Así lo comentó la presidenta de la Federación de Estudiantes de la Universidad de Santiago de Chile, Marta Matamala, quien recalcó que “él hizo una exposición muy completa apuntando a los elementos transversales y amarres que puede significar el TPP para las diversas luchas que hemos liderado los estudiantes y las diversas organizaciones sociales”.
A juicio de los dirigentes estudiantiles, la ratificación del Acuerdo Transpacífico en el Parlamento terminará afectando las demandas que estudiantes y otras organizaciones sociales han levantado durante los últimos años. Por ello, aseguran, decidieron adherir a las próximas movilizaciones que tendrán lugar en diversas regiones Chile durante el próximo 18 de abril.
“Yo creo que esto habla de una forma de hacer política que no solo es de espaldas a la gente, sino que además tiene que ver con a quiénes se les están resguardando los intereses. Este tratado afecta el uso de los recursos naturales, el derecho de la gente a la salud, las condiciones laborales y los mismos Derechos Humanos”, afirmó Matamala.
Por su parte, la presidenta de la Federación de Estudiantes de la Universidad de Chile, Camila Rojas, aseguró que el debate abierto en el pasado Confech sobre el TPP fue una buena oportunidad para despejar dudas y formar acuerdos.
“Quedamos de convocar y asistir a la marcha como Confederación de Estudiantes de Chile (Confech). Además, nosotros hemos redistribuido la información sobre el acuerdo en los centros de estudiantes y federaciones”, recalcó la dirigente estudiantil.
Estudiantes se suman a movilizaciones
La jornada de movilización internacional contra el TPP aglutina los esfuerzos de organizaciones de la sociedad civil en Perú, México, Chile y Canadá. Durante el lunes 18 de abril se realizarán concentraciones y acciones de información a la ciudadanía acerca de las diversas consecuencias del tratado. En Santiago, la convocatoria invita a todos a sumarse a las 18 horas en Paseo Bulnes con Alameda.
El objetivo de las movilizaciones también apunta a emplazar a los parlamentarios a definir su voto en contra de la ratificación del TPP. Durante los próximos meses, el gobierno ingresará el proyecto al Congreso Nacional para que diputados y senadores se pronuncien a favor o en contra, sin posibilidad de modificación alguna.
A juicio de los estudiantes, la falta de participación y transparencia en la negociación y firma del acuerdo enciende las alertas del mundo social.
“Es una realidad internacional que no se considere a la ciudadanía en los procesos y negociaciones de acuerdo y es algo que como Confech y a título personal me parece muy grave, porque si las iniciativas se toman entre cuatro paredes no se hacen cargo de las realidades de las comunidades ni de las necesidades sociales que hoy día existen”, sentenció la presidenta de la FECh.
Por otra parte, haciendo un llamado a todos los estudiantes a adherirse a la movilización contra el TPP, la dirigenta Marta Matamala señaló que “el problema no es sólo que se discuta sin consultarle a la gente, sino que además gran parte de estos temas obstaculizan las posiciones de la sociedad organizada. Son tratados que nos van a obligar a actuar de una determinada manera”.
