A los senadores y las senadoras: ¡Chile despertó! ¡Exigimos el rechazo al TPP-11!

Carta a los senadores y las senadoras de Chile enviada por la plataforma ciudadana Chile Mejor sin TLC: 

«A todos los Senadores y Senadoras del País:

En el momento que millones de personas siguen movilizándose en todo el país para exigir cambios profundos en todos los ámbitos, cuando exigimos nueva constitución y un cambio profundo en el modelo de desarrollo, hemos recibido indicaciones que el gobierno buscará empujar nuevamente la aprobación del CPTPP o TPP-11. 

Por todas las razones que hemos expuesto ante el parlamento, que han sido adoptadas como propias por  cientos de organizaciones sociales, reafirmadas por más de 500.000 personas en un plebiscito ciudadano y que hoy forman parte de las reflexiones que se hacen en cientos de cabildos ciudadanos, exigimos a todas y todos los senadores el rechazo del TPP-11.  Más aún, junto a millones de chilenos exigimos respetar la huelga legislativa mientras haya movilizaciones sociales. Por el contrario, exigimos junto a millones de chilenos que el gobierno retire este tratado de la agenda legislativa, junto a los restantes proyectos en trámite resistidos por el pueblo movilizado..

EL TPP es un tratado que busca resguardar eternamente todo aquello que hoy hemos rechazado al manifestarnos en la calle y en los cabildos ciudadanos. Su aprobación restringiría severamente nuestras posibilidades de elaborar democráticamente una nueva Constitución, sería una bofetada a una voluntad claramente mayoritaria y una provocación que desmentiría cualquier declaración sobre intenciones  de paz social o de restauración de confianzas. Un voto a favor por los senadores que hoy dicen ser de oposición al actual gobierno constituiría una traición a todo principio democrático, progresista o de izquierda.

Hasta el 18 de octubre, los senadores que apoyaban el TPP podían refugiarse en el supuesto interés mayoritario de seguir adelante con la profundización de las políticas neoliberales y la entrega de más y más privilegios al gran capital nacional y transnacional, a costa de nuestra soberanía, nuestra salud, nuestra  alimentación, nuestros derechos sociales, nuestros recursos y nuestro medioambiente. Las movilizaciones han dejado claro que el interés de las mayorías se opone radicalmente al neoliberalismo y a tratados como el TPP».
